The Janus nanobelt, realizing a micro-partition of two functional domains, is used as a building unit to construct fish-like regions to microscopically reduce detrimental influences among different functions by isolating and confining them in their own domains, and thus ensuring high conductive anisotropy and strong fluorescence. The PF achieves a macro-partition of four independent functional domains to obtain excellent synchronous bi-anisotropic conduction, up- and down-conversion multi-mode luminescence to avoid harmful mutual interferences. The two fish-like structural regions of PF are constructed by Janus nanoribbons, and the two eye-like regions consist of nanofibers.

Herein, employing the Yin-Yang fish structure film representing the pseudo-Janus structure as a case study, we have fabricated a pseudo-Janus structure film (defined as PF) with multi-mode fluorescence and bi-anisotropic conductivity by electrospinning. The Yin-Yang fish sign is a typical pseudo-Janus structure. For the pseudo-Janus structure, the symmetries are central and π symmetry. For the Janus structure, the symmetries are mirror and π symmetry. The symmetry of the pseudo-Janus structure is different from that of the Janus structure. The pseudo-Janus structure can be regarded as a new structure, which is obtained by flipping one side of the Janus structure vertically. Inspired by the Yin-Yang fish sign, we propose herein a concept of a structure very different from the Janus structure in materials chemistry, and it is defined as a pseudo-Janus structure. The functional seat brings more than just functionality, but the beauty of nature, art and science as well as a unique comfort to heart. The Yin-Yang fish, a sign of traditional Chinese culture, has been widely used to represent the combination of two different properties or the transformation between them in the field of materials chemistry. It’s classic, practical and durable.Īll in all, the design of Yin Yang Fish expresses our hope for a better life. Last but not least, we selected black and white leather for the seat. Two vortex units are independent electromechanical device systems and can be separated from the seats. As water rotating and spilling out, it refreshes people’s mind, heart and soul. Next, the internal whirlpool in the seat further reveals the charm of a real water vortex. We propose you a Yin Yang Koi Fish Tapestry with a remarkable quality of finish. What’s more, the four units can be assembled with different modulus while maintaining the overall integrity, or placed according to varied spaces and users. Fish is one of the most widespread traditional motifs in Asian cultures. The complementary shape of yin and yang implies an eddy-like permanent rotation. Two of the seats include two sets of vortexes, which look like fish eyes.

Therefore we let the two concepts coalesced into this seat design.įirstly, from the perspective of plan design, we divided a circle into four fish-like units, whose border consists of several golden section curves with different radii. The culture and shape of yin and yang represent a power of constant harmony and balance, which goes the same with water vortexes in the nature. What will happen if we inject water feature into seat design ? We were inspired by yin and yang from oriental cultural aesthetics and designed this set of seats named as Yin Yang Fish.
